Travel Advice: AAA Auto Club Membership
AAA Emergency Road Service: Do you belong to the AAA Auto Club? I have for as long as I can remember. Our AAA membership in the Midwest costs us $54 per year, and it's worth every penny in my opinion. Because we travel so much, I save hundreds of dollars every year just by mentioning our AAA membership number to car rental companies, hotels, restaurants, and certain attractions. Some of the places that we have received a AAA discount in the past include: Hertz car rental (sometimes AAA is THE BEST rate they offer at any given time), Hard Rock Cafe, Marriott Hotels, and Starwood Hotels. You know Starwood, right? Their group includes Sheraton, Four Points, W Hotels, Aloft, The Luxury Collection, Le Meridien, Element, Westin, and St. Regis hotels and resorts. Whew! In addition, I also take advantage of a discount at Lenscrafters and at my local pharmacy. You can probably see why I never hesitate to renew my AAA membership. How about you? Do you belong to AAA? If so, what are your thoughts? Where do you get AAA discounts?

MudslideMama, Thanks for the tip. I can't wait to check it out. Our world needs all the "green" help it can get!

Hi! I liked AAA for years, but this past year I learned about a great alternative, Better World Travel. This roadside assistance auto club provides all the same benefits as AAA, but doesn't support the highway lobby (which fights against increasing emissions standards) and is a "green" company. It's an easy way to travel more responsibly! :)
You can read about it, if you like, by searching "Better World Travel" at http://TravelingMamas.com
